Meet Alexandra

Alex Chiorando

The children are at the heart of everything I do.

I am passionate about high quality education and firmly believe that children will thrive when they feel heard and respected.

I have over 25 years’ experience teaching and leading in Schools and Private Nurseries.

I am a former EY Ofsted Inspector and have worked as an Associate Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitain University.

I work with schools, nurseries and childminders across the UK and internationally.

I have worked as a consultant for BBC Bitesize and I am currently working with an independent video production company on new TV programmes for young children.

I love public speaking and regularly deliver large group training for nursery groups and school clusters. I really enjoy delivering training internationally. For the last 2 years I have delivered training for the First7 group in Romania. This year I enjoyed delivering a workshop for the Childcare and Education Expo in London. I am really looking forward to delivering training in China and SE Asia later this year.

I recognise that Early Years Practitioners and Teachers want to develop their practice through high quality training, coaching and consultation.

Training

Training is so important for gaining knowledge and for your well-being.

Knowledge leads to confidence. Confident practitioners meet the needs of children more effectively. Children who have their needs met are more engaged and focused. Happy children equal happy practitioners-and vice-versa!

Training gives you motivation and passion!

Marmalade training is informative, easy to understand and dynamic. I use lots of pictures, hints and tips and real-life examples to help you understand child development and why we do the things we do in nurseries and preschools.

Live Zoom Training

Live training is delivered via zoom or in a webinar format. You can train in real-time and you have the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with like-minded people. The courses are fun and interactive (if you want to join in, you can just sit back and watch if you prefer.)
If you would like to be invoiced for a training course rather than pay directly, please let me know and we can arrange this for you.

When teachers and practitioners focus on connection and developing a child’s self-esteem, independence and confidence, they see an enormous positive impact on behaviour and learning. Nationally, we have seen an emphasis placed on academic ability in the classroom which means that we don’t always give relationships enough attention. The way that children play has changed. Join me on this course and leave feeling empowered to place the children at the heart of everything that you do. Happy children also means happy teachers 😊

This 2 hour course is dynamic and practical, with lots of ideas that you can take away and use immediately within your setting.

testimonial

I am qualified to level 5 and have been on many training courses, but I can honestly say that I have learnt so much more with Alex.
She is incredibly inspirational and is so passionate about teaching and learning. I am sure that if Alex had a magic wand, her wish would be that every child has access to quality learning experiences.

During training Alex gives stories and personal experiences to help you understand the importance of what you are learning, in turn taking this into your setting. Alex won’t just give you a task, but will explain why.

I have learnt so much from Alex and look forward to gaining so much more inspirational knowledge from her in the future.
